"I was born and raised in Mississippi. With all the amazing 'wild things' down there, I learned to love the study of biological sciences. I was taught by my family to respect everyone regardless of color, shape or beliefs. My parents, sister, and brother are my heroes, they created the possibilities that gave me the courage to follow my dreams. I always dreamed of the Northern Lights, glaciers, and animals with snow covered coats. With those dreams and desire for a cooler climate, I made it out to Oregon to study Zoology at Oregon State University. During my studies, many professors and friends helped me blossom interests in physics, english literature and biochemistry. Following graduation these same interests led to the study of Nuclear Medicine at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Portland. Following a completion of the Nuclear Medicine program, I worked at Kaiser In Nuclear Medicine and eventually moved into a position at OHSU directing Environmental Health and Radiation Safety for the Vollum Institute. During my happy adventure at the OHSU campus, I became interested in alternative medicine and began graduate study of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. I left OHSU in 2002 to pursue a new paradigm, a new focus, and a harnessed intent to create a positive, healthy, unique healing environment for all of my patients.
I find myself always in gratitude for all of life's gifts, and will note a special thanks to my husband Moon for all of his love, laughs, kindness & support, and to my son Devon for so much positivism, and great influence on my driving force. Both of them keep me silly."
